AgroChemex Environmental is a small but dynamic organisations based in Essex, specialising in registration trials for the Chemical industry, providing both aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology studies.

We are an established contract research organisation and work with a large number of customers providing high quality studies in compliance with GLP. As we are a small team we expect staff to take on a wide range of responsibilities, both practical and office based. As the business is expanding we are looking to recruit a new member to our team. 

Site Technician

Reporting to Site Manager

Conduct site and equipment maintenance, including but not limited to; vehicle servicing, mowing grass areas, pruning of shrubs and general field maintenance.

Assist teams with studies as required

Conduct and coordinate physical compatibility studies

Manage deliveries and consumable stocks


·         Experience of a farm/agricultural environment would be an advantage

·         No specific qualifications are required

·         The ability to follow procedures and keep excellent data records

Chemist, Analytical and Physico-chemical Testing

Reporting to Senior Chemist

The role requires the individual to;

·         Perform and assist with analytical testing, primarily using HPLC and GC techniques

·         Perform and assist with a range of Physico-chemical testing processes

·         Provide support for Senior chemists and GLP Study directors

·         Conduct basic lab duties, including calibration and maintenance of equipment


·         Experience of working in a quality system driven organisation, GLP an advantage

·         Degree level qualification in chemistry, or equivalent experience

·         Laboratory, specifically analytical experience could be an advantage

·         This role could be adapted for a new graduate or school leaver who demonstrates suitable enthusiasm and competency

Environmental Technician

Reporting to Senior Environmental Scientist

The role requires the individual to; assist with ecotoxicology studies, with both aquatic and terrestrial species in accordance with recognised guidelines

Maintain and monitor cultures of various test organisms

Assist with laboratory support duties, such as cleaning and calibration of equipment

Full training will be provided


·         Minimum A-level qualification in science, or equivalent experience

·         A good working knowledge of mathematics essential

·         A willingness to learn

·         Experience of working in a lab could be an advantage

·         Role could suit a new graduate
