Field Trials Officer

Reporting to Field Team Manager
The role requires the individual to;
To direct and perform field trials, with a number of different crop species in accordance with recognised guidelines.
To perform all aspects of field trials both practical and reporting, including some statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Liaise with customers to provide a high-quality service
Take a practical role in assisting with maintenance across the research farm
Pre-requisites:
• Experience of working in a quality system driven organisation, GLP and/or GEP an advantage
• Knowledge of crop diseases, weed species and insect pests
• Experience of working in a farming environment
• Computer literacy, use of word, excel and outlook essential, ARM an advantage

Analytical Chemist

Reporting to Senior Chemist
The role requires the individual to;
• Primarily conduct routine physico-chemical testing procedures, as well as batch analysis and method validation studies
• Conduct analytical testing to support environmental analysis studies, primarily using HPLC and GC techniques
• Develop chromatographic methods of analysis using a wide range of detectors, including MS
• Conduct other analytical techniques: spectroscopy, titrimetry, gravimetry, viscometry, calorimetry and so forth
• Provide support for senior chemists and GLP Study Directors
• Conduct basic lab duties, including calibration and maintenance of equipment
Pre-requisites:
• Experience of working in a quality system driven organisation, GLP an advantage
• Degree level qualification in chemistry, or equivalent experience
• Laboratory, specifically analytical experience would be advantageous
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• This role could be adapted for a new graduate or school leaver who demonstrates suitable enthusiasm and competency

GLP Study Director, Ecotoxicology

Reporting to Ecotoxicology Team Leader
The role requires the individual to; direct and perform ecotoxicology studies, with a number of different species, both terrestrial and aquatic, and in accordance with recognised guidelines
Liaise with customers to provide a high quality service
Provide reports to meet specific client needs, including statistical analysis and data interpretation
Take a practical role in assisting with maintenance within the laboratory complex
Pre-requisites:
• Experience of working in a quality system driven organisation, GLP an advantage
• Degree level qualification in life sciences, or equivalent experience
• Experience of coordinating or running studies

Junior Ecotoxicologist / Environmental Technician

Reporting to Senior Environmental Scientist
The role requires the individual to; assist with and perform elements of ecotoxicology studies, with both aquatic and terrestrial species in accordance with recognised guidelines
Liaise with customers to provide a high quality service
Maintain and monitor cultures of various test organisms
Assist with laboratory support duties, such as cleaning and calibration of equipment
Full training will be provided
Pre-requisites:
• Minimum A-level qualification in science, or equivalent experience
• A good working knowledge of mathematics essential
• A willingness to learn
• Experience of working in a lab could be an advantage
• Role could suit a new graduate
